
Military pensions to rise for a third year, government says

Military pensions will increase by 3% in next financial year from December 2018 onwards, the government said today, after the previous hike came to an end.
The military pension rate has been increased for the third consecutive year for those who have served in the armed forces between October 2018 and October 2020.
The government said it had also increased the rate of monthly pension of the retired soldiers from the current level of Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000.
The rate of military pensions will also be increased for those serving on leave from December 1.
A retired officer serving in the Indian Army would receive Rs 1.75 lakh per month.
